Story of Stuff.
http://www.storyofstuff.com/ - Primarily aimed at kids, but the simplification might help it get through to some people. Interesting and informative nevertheless.

Radio
I’ve struck up a new love affair with Radio. I’ve always enjoyed having the Radio on, but over the last year and with the purchase of a DAB Radio I really have fallen in love with it.
It’s incredible how much diversity there is across stations and broadcasters. I love how one minute I can be listening to music; the next listening to sports and finish by listening to a story or a discussion. It takes you all over the world, to different events and represents such a wide range of views and cultures.
I have a real issue with TV and the amount of absolute fodder that is broadcast the majority of the day, spare a few hours of “prime time” although it very rarely offers much other than mindless entertainment. If you want sport or a wider range of channels you have to pay a luxury fee and even then you just get a face full of adverts.
Radio you’re old, and to many you are boring. But I love you. -

Guerrilla Gardening Tool of the Day: Greenaid’s Seedbomb Vending Machines.
Clay, compost, and seeds combine to form a quick + dirty solution to the blight of urban decay. Greenaid’s dispensaries are slowly but surely making their way across the country, leaving in their wake a healthier, more aesthetic America.

Man is nothing else but what he purposes, he exists only in so far as he realises himself, he is therefore nothing else but the sum of his actions, nothing else but what his life is.
Jean-Paul Sartre - Quote from Existentialism and Humanism discussing the issue of Despair when man discovers freedom and responsibility of all actions, act without hope, but at the very least act.
Possibly one of the best lectures I’ve read, I’d recommended it to anyone.
